So, it turns out you can’t download and use Crysis Warhead via Steam on Windows Vista unless you run Steam as administrator or disable UAC.
The problem you will run into, is an anonymous dialog asks you to “Enter your Registration Code Here”. Steam has not made any registration code known to you, so… good luck!
There are no messages or installation instructions warning of this in Steam and very little official recognition of the problem, only a vague reference from a helpful denizen of the Steam forums, thanks smooth!
I don’t know what would concern me more, if it turned out that Valve don’t test their new game distributions under Vista, or that all of their test machines have UAC disabled. The latter seems more likely, but just as disturbing!
