I spent some time on the weekend experimenting with capturing and editing game footage. Here’s the result:
Obviously, this video isn’t meant to serve any particular purpose, it’s just me playing around with fraps and video editing.
I had considerable issues getting fraps to record audio without distortion. It might just be my soundcard or driver issues, but if you Google the issue, there seem to be a lot of similar complaints from others.
This issue meant that for some sequences in the video above I have recreated the sound effects and music using the source wav files stored with the game files at Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead\left4dead\sound
I plan to use these techniques to put together some SNAP-oriented vids in future.
