  1. FYI, these are my comments:

I believe there are games available today as MA15+ that should be rated R18+.

As an adult gamer and parent, I am disappointed twofold by superficial edits being made to adult games allowing them to be classified as “lower impact” and thus available to minors: (1) the (adult) game experience often suffers as a result, (2) the government is effectively endorsing this content for the 15-17 age group, where R18+ would be more appropriate.

I fully support that extreme content should be refused classification.

With respect to parental controls in computers and consoles, I think it would be valuable for government (on behalf of the community) to work with technology vendors and set appropriate defaults. Perhaps all new consoles/computers should have parental controls turned on and only G, PG (maybe M?) classified content allowed by default. This would encourage adults to learn the parental controls to access restricted content, rather than hope parents can understand the controls to restrict content. Equally, this could apply to media players for film classification.

    Well said!

  3. I put my comment in a while ago, something along the lines of I’m an adult therefore I should be able to chose what I do and don’t play. I do believe that it’s the parent’s job to chose what their child can and cannot play, don’t give kids computers or consoles in the bedroom, have it in an open area where you can keep an eye on things.
