How do you solve a problem like Global Agenda?

So Spiii took me for a run in Global Agenda PvE in the wiii hours of this morning. My first time back in quite a while.

I have to say, they have tweaked the balance and it’s a lot more enjoyable. The enemies (including specials) are easier to dispatch and they don’t seem to dish out quite as much damage. I didn’t die as often either — granted this was likely largely due to Spiii medicing me as I played Kamikaze style Recon. Another good example is there are no longer roaming sensors in High Security. Suffice to say the difficulty curve has definitely shifted.

With a balanced team (Assault, Medic, Robo, Sniper Recon) these missions see a lot more action without the difficulty becoming overwhelming. Which in my books = fun.

Apparently though, AvA still sucks. Even Psypher thinks so, and he’s the head of the lead Agency from the I Alliance (currently one of the top Alliances on Citadel Zone).

Be interesting to see what changes the Sandstorm release will bring.

Spiii posted some great footage of our think tank battle earlier this afternoon. I do enjoy a good think tank!

  4. what’s not to enjoy about think tanks, lol :)

    I like Support Guardians too!

I don’t think TF2 has anything like this.

  7. good to see my med is performing well in the stats, whatever “ASM” is, but why is my drobo ranked so low. aw :(

    What, like this?

    Stop invalidating my point

Sorry. To be fair, GAStats has features TF2Stats does not. e.g: GAStats gives you ASM, a comparitive score against others. Would make TF2 more competitive if it gave you a rank like that :)

Found another one. Interesting to see players’ loadout choices

  12. Global Agenda:

When the patch goes live, all current weapons players have will be stripped from them, leaving only their post-tutorial starter set. But it’s not like you’re missing out, as for every level your character has gained he will be given 1,000 credits (a level 50 character will have 50,000 credits to spend) in order to get re-equipped using the new system.

  13. Global Agenda sandstorm patch notes (subject to change): http://hi-rez.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/192 — major changes to loadout ~:)

Players will default to a Mission Server (North America, Europe, PacRim) based on their IP address. You may still opt to use another server, but your preference will be reset on each login.

    — will we be connected to the (slightly slower) Singapore server every time, I wonder?

  14. aw “High Security, Maximum Security and Double Agent PvE are subscription only (once subs start).”

That’s very upsetting! I agreed to shell out money for the full PvE experience, and now they are taking that away from us? Unless there’s a significant upside, this might be the final straw for a game that has made more than it’s fair share of mistakes already!

  16. Yes. That particular aspect has had many negative comments, so hope they change their mind. No think tanks! Imagine that.

Although there is open world PvE to balance it, maybe (not in this patch). I’m gonna try it on the test server.

Still, if I walk away I’ve already had my money’s worth :)

  17. new testing up this weekend, you can now try out new weapons and form a 10 man team for a defense “raid” — which was pretty cool fun!

I tried a medic “multi-boost beam” which does normal healing, or (right-click) damage boost pup to 3 players simultaneously. interesting.

    robo flame turret looks neat!

  18. solved! what motivates us? risk, rewards, money … :)
