Having hosted a few in my time. I’m in awe of the dedication this guy has for implementing a technical masterpiece.

A highlight for me was the server based game OS image is distributed to each LAN PC via PXE NetBoot. NERD HEAVEN!
So if you have time to watch this you should. To put it simply my reactions started off like wow that is cool, closely followed by WTF and ending in an all rounded shock and awe.

For those of you that have made the jump and pre-ordered The Old Republic from Amazon, I have some good news.
You can now download the game client so that you are ready to play the moment it launches! And with early access invites being sent out from 13th of December it will be a very merry Christmas.
And for those of you that didn’t pre-order, you can suck it.

After tofu fell asleep at work, I realised it was time to go on holidays!! And holidays means LANS!
LanSmash have announced SantaSmash 2011 which may or may not involve Nintendo Sixty-FOOOOUUURRRR! It’s the 10–11 December weekend.
No official word yet on Auld Lan Syne III, however my money’s on a mashup that mixes classic lanning with a euphonium-powered nerf war. Even google cannot tell you exactly what that is, but if you watch these 2 videos simultaneously you will get the idea…
Sadly I’ll be in Sydney, I’d be keen to do one down the track this year though!

The verdict is very positive in my book.
Graphics – Yes they are a little cartoony but like with WoW, that is deliberate so as to allow lower end systems to run. I also think it wont age as badly as if they went top end. Most importantly I think it captures the feel of SW very well.
Sabres – You didnt play through very far by the sounds. You do get one pretty quickly into the main story…
